The Aftermath

Wow, look at the time now. I should be in bed by now. Its been a long
time since I stayed up so late. The problem is I am unable to sleep.
Tried as much as I would but the turning and tossing is not helping.
Luck is on my side, the rest are asleep I have all the access to the
computer and internet, with any luck, by God's will, I hope I won't
get disconnected by the time I finish typing. God bless Nong Khai's
internet access.

This few weeks has been tremendously fulfilling for me. To able to
see God's awesome work done here. So the teams have left and now
its back to business. I have been following Vincent to Ban Dea Ah
village for following up. Its great to be able to visit the village again.
I was here earlier in June and have seen some good work been done
here. One of the villager, near the school, opened up his house for
cell group meetings on tuesday nights and saturday mornings for
the kids. Thank God for this brother.

I am helping out to teach basic conversational English in the village
on Saturdays and in Church on Sundays. Well, I must say at least I
some duties and responsibilities here. The kids in the village are very
clever and they learn fast. A pity that they are not in the right place
to recieve proper education, otherwise I believe that they would done
even better then the city kids. I would not be susprise that they
would be better in bible knowledge then alot of the city kids back in
Singapore given the chance.

Jeff and Tammy are back in Singapore to rasie funds for blankets for
the villagers in Pho Phisai. I pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to
people involved and will touch people who are willing to help in any
way. Also, one of orphanage are asking us to help out on Thailand's
children's day which is happening on the 8th Jan 2005. I am not sure
if I will be still around but I will be willing to help in any way. They are
also about 10-15 kids in the school that are interested in learning
English. This way we would be also be able to teach the kids bible.
Praise the Lord for open doors.

We will contiune to pray for this land here in Nong Khai and I do also
ask for you guys to keep us and this land in prayer. 450 years of
mission work here has finally seen fruits bearing. Amen!

Malaysian Team

The Malaysian Team came almost as soon as the Singapore's
Youth Impact Team left. We were almost burned out. Frankly
speaking, I think most of us are still very tried.

Basically, the Malaysian Team was split into 3 Teams.
Laos, headed by Hubert and Pastor Gideon.
Thailand, Jeff and Mattew and Paster Tomanoo.
And lastly, Cambodia, by Pastor Mark.
Plus Jeff's Tuesday Group are here for the Christmas Concert.

Basically, we did the same things as the Youth Impact.
Except this time round is wee bit relax, as we did mostly
tracting around Nong Khai town district and outreach in the
schools in Nong Khai area. Also bascially to promote the upcoming
concert on the 10th and 11th of Dec which the Tuesday Group
had been busy practising for. I have seen the practise, and I tell
you, its gonna be one hellavu concert.! The other big thing will
be the "Jesus March", where the band will be on a big lorry and
they will be playing songs on the lorry as the lorry moved
around Nong Khai town.

The Laos team came back early as they were not equipped for
the very cold weather, which dropped to 6 deg at night which make
them very uncomfortable to get any good rest. While the Cambodia
team had half the team members suffered from food poisoning.
They are too coming back to Thailand early to rejoin the group.

Well, everything's gonna end by 13th Dec. That's where the tiring
work begins as we get ready to do follow up on the people. I try
to post some pictures up for the Christmas Concert thing and
write a report after the event.

God bless! ...

Youth Impact 2004

Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by
Your great power and Your outstretched arm.
There is nothing too hard for You.
Jeremiah 32:17

Finally we are back, home sweet home. Back to our cosy corner.
Where we have hot water, a nice toilet and lastly the internet.

The last 4 days were eventful. 155 youths from COS (BT) came to
Nong Khai to help spread the good news here in Udon Thani. Split
into 4 groups, they spread out to different districts. I went with Jeff
and Tammy to Pho Phisai district with Poo, Poy and Pastor Ed with
a bunch of 40 swell kids to spread the gospel to villagers. Pastor
Daniel and his friend Danny from Brighton something church joined
us. I did not realise that it was mixture of few differenct churches
with the same directions and goals that were working on this trip.

To sum up the whole event, we did tracting, schools outreach, night
rallies and prayer walking for the last 4 days, everyday. We see
many healed and saved. The deaf and dumb, spoke and hear again,
the crippled walked and the almost blind see again. It was great to
see God's grace and mercy upon the villages work. This area is very
spiritually bounded, and its great to see that we have so many young
prayer warriors working against the evil ones. There were many
distractions during the rallies and people rejecting Jesus, but we held
on to our prayers and prasie the Lord, mircales happen and still lifes
are saved.

Its also disheartening to hear from villagers claiming that they do not
have a church to go to. We need to pray hard, to follow up and plants
churches soon. By God's grace too, while we were having lunch on the
last day, the Governor of Pho Phisai district was too having lunch.
We approached him and told him what we were doing and who we
were. God is so good, the Governor gave us the green light to spread
the gospel and teach the children english. He did request for help for
the poor people, in the sense of providing blankets for 9,000. We
told him we could only try and he was grateful for that. We have
schools asking that we go back to speak to them about God, we have
boys home providing visas and lodgings if we could teach them
english and Jesus. We have people wanting churches so that they
can go to have praise and worship and listen to sermons. Its all so
wonderful. God is indeed awesome.

Lastly, Pastor Tamalun's grandmother is also saved. He was so
overjoyed that he teared. His mother is the head of the temple and
had a big plot of land that was about to have a temple built over it.
Praise God, that did not happen. I think that was the highlight of the
mission trip.

Next up, we have the Malaysian Team that is coming. I heard Pastor
Dan, Pastor Gideon are coming, not sure about Pastor Mark Geppart.
But this is going to another good! Can't wait for it.
I will try to post some pictures up as soon as i know how to.

Till then, keep us in prayer.

Getting the engines ready..

Well, its here or rather the Youth Impact people are here. They had spent a day in Bangkok preparing and they are finally here. They were delayed in their flight here to Udon Thani. God is good, nothing of a big deal happen on the way here, except for some bird flu thingy where they were given strict instructions that they were not allowed to eat chicken or eggs. Poor kids.

Well, we had to adhere to their rules, otherwise if anything happened, we not know how to account to their parents. Ok then so now the kids are comfortable in the hotel rooms getting ready for a great spiritual warfare the next day.

Before that we had a briefing at Pastor Tamalun's church. The kids were introduced to the local leaders and pastors and the people that they will be working with. I learnt a great deal here even in the briefing. We need to adhere to the villages culture and not to impose ourselves onto them. I guess that's also basic courtesy.

I will be joining Jeff's team, heading this team will Pastor Eddie (Thailand), BingFen (Singapore), Jeff and Tammy, Noui, Poo and Poy. We are heading out to Nong Luang Area after church services tomorrow. We will stay at XO hotel (what a name for a hotel!) in the Phon Phisai District for the whole duration of the Youth Impact outreach programme. We will be reaching out to 4 villages in Nong Luang area which is in Foul Rai district, and we be doing tracting, prayer walking and school outreach and we will end the day with the showing of the Jesus film or otherwise some skits/sketch from the kids to the audience, if time permits. That's only Day 1. (I will update daily the places and what we do, if internet services and time permits)

Also there is good news, I guess some of you might have heard that Pastor Tamalun is getting a new place or land for his new church. Thing is by God's grace, yes he has a piece of land and I saw the blueprints for the new church. It is gonna be grand and it will hold 500 people compare to one now which prob can hold 150 plus if all squeeze in like sardines! Praise God!

That's all for the updates...
Just a note, I have realised that I haven't been reading the bible and prayed so much here in Nong Khai then back home in Singapore. I am so ashamed of myself.. haha..gosh.. oh well, thank God for this chance..

Till then.. pleasant viewing..

The Arrival

Finally, I have arrived at this little small place in North Eastern Thailand. A small little area called Nong Khai, Ugon Thani, Thailand. This little place is about to recieve about 157 teenagers from Singapore to spread the good news to unreach people here.

Nong Khai is very much bigger then Singapore. The group of 157 are to split into 4 groups and will cover 4 different sectors of Nong Khai. They will do work everyday from the day they touch down till the day they leave on the 3rd of Dec. So it is gonna be very busy and interesting. I prob be following Vincent, if not Jeff and their team.

After this, another bunch of people, coming from Malaysia will be here and there were be another hectic schedule ahead.

So far, it has been nothing but food, sleep, worship, bible, reading, sharing, food and more food. Everything is about God. Its just so wonderful.

Now that I am here, suddenly in the book of James 1:21-27 came very much alive to me and its all so real here especially on the fields. Amen!

till then.. God Bless!
